Description

Inspired by the typology of the modernist glass house, establishing an almost seamless connection with the surrounding forest, integrating harmoniously into the landscape.
The property
The stylish all-black exterior serves as a striking contrast to the warm, high-end plywood interior, allowing the building to blend in with its natural surroundings. Moving away from the traditional Canadian cottage with its flat roof, our cabin offers a distinct aesthetic. The wide sliding doors connect seamlessly to a terrace, extending living space into the forest and allowing for a constant connection with nature regardless of the weather. There is a container located at the entrance (not visible from the cabin), which we will renovate in spring with wooden upholstery. This is where the main key box is located.
Host availabilities
We can be reached at any time. This is our special place that we rented out for others to experience.
Your neighbourhood
Beautiful quiet Potton region, 7 minutes from the ski slopes and Owl's Head golf course. 10 minutes from the Vermont border.
Other information
There is a container located at the entrance (not visible from the cabin), which we will renovate in spring with wooden upholstery. We are dog friendly, but we would love to hear more about your little furry companion. It is important for us that it is completely clean and that, overall, it behaves well. We may have a few questions before confirming their arrival. It is our special place where we also like to spend time, we decided to rent it so that others could discover our little gem. We have left all of our wonderful books for our guests to peruse, but we ask that you respect and care for them as you would your own. It's a quiet place, a community of neighbors we're close to, so we hope you understand that it's not a place to have parties and host lots of people. Here is some important information for the cottage: The water is drinkable. It is normal for it to have a sulphide odor. For the heating of the cottage, which comes mainly from the floor, the control is in each room individually. On the indicator panel, the top number indicates how hot the room is and the bottom number indicates how hot the floor is. Depending on the difference, to be adjusted. The hot water comes from an artisanal well. In order to take advantage of hot showers, note that the temperature will be less hot after 3 showers in a row. Do not throw sanitary and sanitary products (tampons and sanitary pads) down the toilet. Please activate the ventilation in the shower during use. For the home: Do not change the position of the vent clasp. In order to activate the fire. Here is the procedure (the fireplace door handle is removable and is on the floor). 1-start with firewood and one or two small fire accelerator blocks. 2-leave the door ajar for the fire to catch fire. 3-Once the fire is gone, add a log (in the library) 4- At all times the fireplace door remains closed. This fireplace is a home that must remain closed in order to function properly. 5-After 2 to 3 fires, you should empty the ash tank in the fireplace. Cuisine The stove is a gas stove. You have to weigh and turn the round buttons to activate the gas. Activate ventilation when cooking. Trash cans to be placed in the parking lot entrance (green container) Recycling to be placed in the parking lot entrance (Blue container) Here is the schedule: At all times and especially after cooking, activate the air exchanger to ensure air quality. The switch is on the panel in front of the pantry. The microwave is in the pantry. The washer and dryer are in the mechanical room across from the hallway closet. (The doors don't currently open with the entryway mat, so you'll need to fold the entryway mat and then open the doors if you want to do the laundry.) Thank you for taking care of library items. You'll find Extra blanket and sheets in the closet in the middle of the master bedroom and the closet in the other bedroom. Reference number if required: Text or call Jessica Manchester 514-506-4492 The electrical panel is in the hallway closet. The nearest village is Mansonville (15 min). There is a Richelieu Market for a grocery store, convenience store and pharmacy. Don't miss: Owl's bread bakery (their bread, baguette and brioche) Cafe Apalache Euro deli (Polish sausage) Leadville farm (meat and eggs local products)
