This three-hundred-year-old house has seen the members of two families grow up. The first owners, the Bilodeaus succeeded one another over several generations. Moreover, behind the house, you can still see the barn of Émile, the last occupant of the Bilodeau line. In 1965, following the opening of the Mont-Sainte-Anne ski center, the members of the Éthier family became the new masters of the place.
It was in the early 1980s that the eldest son of the Éthier family, Gilles, transformed the family home into a tourist residence for renting short stays. Visitors now have the chance to discover this house and to immerse themselves in its rich history full of stories.
The lime-coated stone walls of this Norman-style house allow it to withstand the rigors of Quebec winters. The roof is steeper than those of French homes and the cornices are longer to avoid the accumulation of ice and snow.
The gallery, under the cornices, allows you to rock yourself in the open air on beautiful summer evenings just as the Bilodeaus and the Éthiers once did.
Witnesses to the ancestral past of this house, the numerous field stone walls, the panelled walls, the wooden beams and the fireplace complete the decor.
The Bilodeau-Éthier house is perfect for groups of up to 13 people. The total area of all floors is 2000 ft2 (186 m2).
